Chocolate Mousse Cups

Chocolate Mousse has been my favorite dessert for the longest. This is by far the easiest recipe with the fewest ingredients.

It is so smooth and rich!! Anyone can make this without fail. Make it in advance for your guests or for your family. Everyone will surely love it!

It requires only 2 ingredients and nothing else!

Let’s get started!!

All You Need:

  1. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips (melted)- 1 ¼ cups (plus ¼ cup extra to decorate on top-optional)
  2. Heavy Whipping Cream- 2 cups (Cold)

A Few Tips:

  • Just be careful to not over whip the cream.
  • Make sure the melted chocolate is not hot when mixing in the cream otherwise it will melt the cream.
  • For whipping, you can use a stand mixer or a hand held mixer or a simple whisk. The only thing is it will take more time.
  • The cream should be cold, otherwise it won’t whip up properly.
  • If using a whisk, place a bowl of ice under the bowl of cream so that it whips up quickly and doesn’t warm up.

Method:

  • In a bowl add the cream and whip it until soft peaks form.
  • Add the melted chocolate and mix until combined well and the cream thickens.
  • Pour this is small cups or bigger ones.
  • I poured it over some crumbled chocolate cake.
  • Chill it for an hour.
  • Melt the remaining ¼ cup chocolate chips and pour it on top. This is optional but it just elevates the dessert!
  • Let it set for 1-2 hours and serve chilled!!
