Oooooooooo.. Chocolate..!! The best thing ever..!! And when you combine chocolate with coffee….!!!!!! It’s divine..!!

I love adding little coffee to every chocolate dessert- cakes, cupcakes, breads, everything, coffee pumps up the taste of chocolate.. And I LOVE COFFEE..!! 😉

So, getting back to the recipe, these French toasts are simply amazing. They are simple to make and quick too..!!

Let’s start with the recipe..

Preparation Time: 5 mins        Cooking Time: 15 mins        Serves: 2 people

All You Need:

  • For the toasts
  1. Bread Slices- 6 pieces
  2. Instant Coffee- 2 tbsp
  3. Sugar- 2 tbsp or to taste
  4. Milk- ¼ Cup
  5. Heavy Whipping Cream- ¼ Cup
  6. Bitter Sweet Chocolate Chips- a handful
  7. Butter- enough to spread on the pan
  8. Eggs- 2
  • For the Ganache
    • Bitter Sweet Chocolate chips- ¾ Cup
    • Heavy Whipping Cream- Cup
    • Butter- 1 tsp

A Few Tips:

  1. You can add as much or as little coffee as you want.

Method:

  1. We will start with the ganache. Add heavy whipping cream in a pan and heat it up until you see bubbles on the edges of the pan (just before boiling).
  2. Pour the cream over the chocolate chips and also add the butter. Let it sit for a minute and then using a whisk, mix it all together until all the chips have melted.
  3. Now for the French toast, in a pan, add eggs, sugar, milk & cream. Mix all together and beat for a minute. Add coffee and mix.
  4. You can also add very little chocolate ganache, if you’d like.
  5. Heat up a griddle on medium heat.
  6. Spread very little butter. Soak one slice at a time in the coffee mixture. Place it on the griddle.
  7. Add the chocolate chips and press them using a spatula, so that they stick to the toast.
  8. Toast the bread on both sides until you get a nice brown coating.
  9. Repeat with all the slices.
  10. Garnish with chocolate ganache. You could also add some chopped walnuts.
  11. Serve Hot.

These turn out super yum. Especially on those lazy weekend mornings. Chocolate always makes everyone feel special..!! 😉
