Halloween…….!!!!!!!!!!

So, I was invited to a meetup where one of our friends, Neha, was going to show us amazingly easy and affordable costumes which we can easily make at home. And adding to the bonus, she also showed us how to do make-up for a deer costume. It was so amazing..!! Loved the meetup. You can checkout Neha’s creativity at http://www.chicpudding.wordpress.com

So, as it was a Halloween meetup, we had to dress up in our costumes and make some Halloween dish (OBVIOUSLY..!!)

I’m sure kids will just love it. Oreos are after all everyone’s favorite, Right????

But the problem here was that I had to fast for 7 days and could not eat / taste whatever I make. So I preferred making this super easy and yummy dessert which EVERYONE loved. It was super yummy. I was so tempted to eat but I couldn’t. L

Anyways, now as this was such a huge hit and is so simple to make, I HAVE to share it.

Let’s get started.

Preparation Time: 10 mins    Cooling Time: Min 2 hours    Serves: 30 small pieces

All You Need:

  • Oreos- 40 cookies
  • Cream Cheese- 8 oz (1 small pack)
  • Butter- ¼ Cup
  • White Chocolate- 1 ½ Cups (Melted)
  • Bitter Sweet Chocolate Chips- ½ Cup (Melted)

A Few Tips:

  • Avoid using salted butter as the oreos also contain some salt.
  • Make sure that the butter and cream cheese are at room temperature otherwise it will be difficult to work with them.

Method:

  • Take an 8″x8″ square pan and line the bottom as well as the sides with parchment paper.
  • Add 25 oreos and butter in a food processor and grind the oreos properly.
  • Transfer the oreos to the pan and spread evenly like you would for a pie crust.
  • Set the pan in the fridge for an hour.
  • Coarsely chop 10 oreos.
  • In a bowl, add cream cheese and melted white chocolate. Mix.
  • Now add the chopped oreos to the mixture. Just fold in the oreos, do not over mix.
  • Transfer it on top of the chilled oreo crust. Spred it as evenly as possible.
  • Chop up the remaining oreos and just place it on top.
  • Let it chill for atleast 2 hours or overnight.
  • For the eyes, just melt some white and dark chocolate.
  • Transfer the melted chocolate in different zip lock bags and snip off little bit of the corner.
  • Add two dots of white chocolate and then smaller dots of dark chocolate on top of the white one.
  • You’re Done. Just cut them in the desired size and serve..!!

This takes no time at all and is super easy to make. You can even ask your kids to make these (just do the chopping for them).

These taste amazing..!! Do give these a try.

If you try them, please let me know how these turned out.
