Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, is a festival which celebrated to honor Ganesha Ji. It is one of the grandest festival which is celebrated for 10 days in a really elaborate way. This festival is most celebrated in Maharashtra and also in Goa. It is also very famous in the southern part of India.
The best part of this festival is the prasad made for Ganesha Ji. Most famous Prasad is the Modak which is Ganesha Ji’s favorite. His other favorite sweet is LADOO..!! 😀 This one being my favorite too. My hubby said that he’s really bored of having the same besan ke ladoo and suggested me to make something different. So, this time I made 2 different types of ladoos; one being everyones favorite- Besan Ke Laddo (you can check out the recipe here–> Besan Ke Ladoo). For the second ladoo, I thought, whats better than chocolate. Chocolate is one thing, I’m so sure everyone relishes. Be it in a candy form or pudding or even ladoos, if you add chocolate, it would surely be a hit.. J I gave it a twist with some coconut. Even if you don’t relish coconut, still you would like them, I’m sure. J
These ladoos are super quick to make and need almost no cooking. So lets see what all we need to make these ladoos.
Preparation Time- 10 Mins Cooking Time- 2 Mins Serves-15 Ladoos or 30 Mini Ladoos

All You Need:
- Milk Chocolate Chips- 1 ¼ Cup
- Sweetened Condensed Milk- ½ Cup + for coating
- Dry Coconut- 2 Cups + ½ Cup for Coating
- Walnut Powder- ¼ Cup
- Almond Powder- ¼ Cup
A Few Tips:
- Don’t use semi-sweet chocolate, they are not sweet enough. It will make the ladoos bitter.
- You can add pistachio powder instead of walnut if you prefer or any other. It is just your preference.
- While melting the chocolate in the microwave, do not overdo it. The chocolate can burn easily.
- You just need a very thin layer of condensed milk for the coating.
- No sugar is needed as the chocolate and condensed milk is sweet themselves.

Method:
- Take the chocolate chips and melt them in the microwave for 1 min. After one min, stir them in the bowl itself. They will start melting because of the heat of the bowl. If required, microwave for 15 seconds to melt the chocolate. Repeat if necessary, 15 seconds at a time.
- Dry roast the coconut on medium heat for 2 mins. Do not let the coconut turn brown. 2 mins is good enough for roasting the coconut. Remove in a bowl.
- Remember to separate ½ cup coconut in a different bowl for coating.
- Take a few almonds and walnuts and using a mortar and pestle, make a coarse powder.
- In a bowl, mix coconut, walnut powder, almond powder and condensed milk.
- Add the melted chocolate and mix properly.
- Make sure the mixture is not very dry. Use your hands to check if the mixture is sticky enough to make ladoos.
- Make as big or as small ladoos as you like.
- Once you have made all your ladoos, pour some condensed milk in flat plate or surface.
- Roll a ladoo in the condensed milk and then roll it in the coconut to coat it.
- Repeat for all the ladoos.
These ladoos turned out amazing. I was a bit worried in the beginning because if the coconut, but I was so happy with the result. They turned out amazing and divine..!!
You would love them. Try them and you will fall in love with them.
Happy Ganesh Chaturthi..!! J
