This is an easy recipe for Tiramisu. I did not make it the traditional way. I prefer making it without eggs. It tastes equally divine.
Preparation Time: 15 Mins Cooling Time: 6 hours Serves: 10
All you need:
- 1 lb Mascarpone Cheese (needs to be at room temperature)
- 1 ½ cups of heavy whipping cream
- 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract
- 2 ½ cups of Really strong coffee or espresso (should not be hot)
- 2 Tbsp Dark Rum
- 2 Tbsp unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 30 Ladyfingers (Savogliardi)
- 9×9 baking pan
Few Tips:
- I could not find ladyfingers anywhere, so I made them at home. It doesn’t take much time. You can get the Recipe right here–> Ladyfingers (Savogliardi)
- If you have children or someone who does not prefer any form of alcohol, you could exclude Rum.
Method:
- In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream. Set it in the fridge till you need it. Cream is best used cold and stiff.
- In a bowl, add Rum to the coffee mixture and set aside.
- In another large bowl, add the mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract & sugar. Cream everything together with a spatula.
- Fold in only a scoop of the whipped cream with the mascarpone cheese mixture just to lighten it up.
- Fold in the rest of the whipped cream in the mascarpone cheese mixture. Just use the cut and fold technique. DO NOT OVER MIX. Set aside.
- Now, be ready with the coffee-rum mixture, ladyfingers and a baking pan.
- Take one lady finger at a time, dip it properly in the coffee-rum mixture and then place it in your baking pan. Continue with this process for 15 ladyfingers or until the lower layer is formed.
- Once done, take half the mascarpone cheese mixture and spread it as evenly as possible over the ladyfingers.
- Next, take a sieve and sprinkle approx. 1 tbsp of cocoa powder over the mixture.
- When done, repeat the same procedure with the remaining ladyfingers, spread it on top of the layer you just prepared, cover with the mascarpone mixture and then sprinkle the cocoa powder over it.
- Refrigerate for at least 6 hours or more before serving.
- Serve with raspberries and coffee beans.
